The Aqua League, Bryan Michael-Cox and more at HBO “Bessie” event

IHMG’s The Aqua League joined songwriter Stacy Barthe, producer Bryan Michael-Cox, Estee Bullock, Victory Jones and more at the Stephan Weiss Studios in Lower Manhattan. The producers and songwriters participated in a one-of-a-kind workshop, discussing techniques and processes and gave them a chance to get a sneak peek of HBO’s latest project Bessie.

Bessie depicts the life and times of “The Empress of the Blues” singer Bessie Smith and her rise to stardom in the 1920s and ’30s. Bessie stars Queen Latifah, Monique, Oliver Platt and Michael Kenneth Williams and is set to air on May 16 on HBO.
