Singer/Songwriter brings book to life in narration of new tech adventure

Singer/Songwriter Suni Mayo-Simpson (also known as The Sistah) has her vocal performance talents on display in a reading of the book Gadget Geeks. Written by author Cara Brookins, the story chronicles the adventures of an industrious boy and girl dumpster diving for parts to build cutting-edge robots. They have to watch their backs when a scientist learns about their advanced technology and sends a crew to steal it. Suni narrates and voices all of the colorful characters in this thrilling adventure for young readers.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Drew is a computer geek who loves to build things out of electronic scraps that other people throw away. He has developed an amazing new Robot that works on a unique power source all from parts he found while dumpster diving. Hope is a wealthy Hispanic girl with busy parents. She certainly never planned to dig in trash heaps for robot pieces, but Drew has shown her how fun and inspiring it can be. The two unlikely friends end up on a wild adventure while trying to save their sticky robot from a greedy scientist. Along the way they learn important lessons about family, friendship, and even the power of skunk scent.

Cara Brookins juggles geek life with her passion for building things and writing. She works both as a computer programmer/systems analyst and a freelance writer. She lives near Little Rock, Arkansas with her four children, a chocolate lab, and a one-eyed cat named peek-a-boo.
